Original techno in its original sound came from 3 black guys in Detroit in the mid to late eighties. They were heavily influenced by Kraftwerk and other electro acts before them. The reason why I mention their race is because people associate techno with being white (and soulless) which is not true. The problem I have with society today, is that many people call anything to do with electronic music Techno. Techno is only a sub genre of electronic music (there are many branches electronic music). |

This happens to every genre of music when talked about by outsiders. To people who hate Metal it is all metal. Same with goth etc. Sorry but that is just the way it is. |

very true, many people will classify any electronic music as "Techno". There is a major difference between Techno, House, Leftfield, Breaks etc. yet to "outsiders" it all sounds the same so if they dont like House, they will say they dont like dance music in general. |
