just to let everyone know, the latest Uniform album titled 'Protocol' has been released on the 3rd of April 2006 on the Planet Mu label....there's some pretty discordant voices on the album and to give you some idea, it's a fractured schizo-electronics sound....
the tracklisting is :
01 sex is a contract, history is a trick (featuring lydia lunch)
02 lucid lucid lucid
03 day 7 in the season of mistakes (featuring olga naiman)
04 a swollen vendetta (featuring dalek)
05 are faces objects ? (featuring germseed)

08 no one saw the difference (featuring franko b)
09 warmth is ebbing from things
10 when the sun turns to numbers (featuring alan vega)
11 the symbolist (featuring terry edwards)
12 he's above his station
...quite a crew....
there's gigs and events happening here and abroad and both alice and myself will endeavor to keep everyone informed...at the moment i'm making the music/sound score for an installation by the Royal Festival Hall in london as part of the refurbishment of the Southbank and thats taking up most of my time but if you have any queries, direct them to miss kemp of alice kemp fame or to me....

the Uniform site has been updated with a new layout including a photo gallery where shots from gigs will be posted up regularly, a mailing list, a more comprehensive background on who's involved in the project, a discography, a list of up and coming events including gigs and other performance/installations we recommend.....check it at www.youkneeform.com

here's info on Needle Soup - a music label set up by members of Uniform, focusing on a new wave of fringe music which can range from experimental electronics to folk-rock and everything in between and beyond, just as long as it's off-kilter.....'outsider music' for want of a tag.....we release very small runs of between 100 and 200 cds and 7"s only without any re-pressings
the debut release is out on the 29th of november 2006 and is by the renowned artist Joke Lanz under one of his many guises, Sudden Infant....it's a 3 track EP titled 'Three Puppets' featuring some incredibly visceral tracks...Joke has a huge body of work to his name including WAL, Schimpfluch-Gruppe with the performance artist Rudolf Eb.er, Opposite Opponents and countless others projects....he has collaborated with the likes of Christian Marclay, Annie Stubbs, Z'EV and too many other to mention...unsettling yet beautiful, this EP is a fantastic start to the label and we're proud to have him onboard...
other releases in the pipeline are by the fantastic Les Natrels, The Rebel (aka Ben Wallers, the dynamo behind Country Teasers), Alice Kemp with her uniquely disquieting project Germseed and Scalper with his fire-and-brimstone version of hip-hop....
please bear in mind that the label is a labour of love project...if you like what you hear and you like the spirit in which it's done, then support us by buying the CDs....you don't have to be wealthy to be a philanthropist !

change to the release date down to a decision to make the sleeves not out of regular plastic jewel cases but silk-screen printed on italian watercolour paper...means that they look and feel as special as the music itself....release date for the Sudden Infant EP is 20th of April 2007 but you can order pre-release copies here at a cost of £3.50 each :

Uniform site updated with new features including blogs, mailing lists and new artwork.....the forum is full of discussions on sonic art, live-art, literature and anything else worth it's weight in salt....info on side projects too including Scrapclub, Needlesoup, Vatican X-Ray Department, Dirthole and other events....get to it at :
