Hello: My son, John Daniel Winters is a gifted guitarist and composer. His music is a unique blend of acoustic guitar and electronica. Curiously, numerous visitors to his web site, who have IP addresses in the Beijing area, have played or downloaded this particular piece of music, way out of proportion to the rest of the tracks provided for free download at the site.
There are actually two versions of this number: SPQR 1 (3:13) which was recorded in early December 2005 and SPQR 2 (6:10) recorded 2 weeks later on Christmas Eve. No 1 was recorded straight from the guitar into the interface box and laptop PC. The second session employed a new high-quality condenser mic and preamp before the interface box, in fact you can hear John remarking on it during a brief pause in the action.
Its good to have fans who appreciate your music, esp in a big city like Beijing. If anyone from Beijing has downloaded SPQR 2, or heard it played on the radio, please post a comment. Thx – CW
